Peter Obi: US Security Warning is a ‘Bad Omen’ for Nigeria

Imagine finding out the US is pulling non-essential staff out of its embassy in Abuja. It’s a pretty big deal that’s getting people talking. This move comes with a warning for Americans to rethink visiting Nigeria.

Peter Obi isn’t holding back on this. He called the US directive a “bad omen” and says it should be treated as a “national emergency.” He’s worried this makes it even harder for Nigeria to attract new investors.

Obi pointed out that security is getting worse, noting that “without security, there is no nation to govern.” He thinks leaders are too focused on politics while people are still in danger.

On the other side, the Nigerian government says everything is fine. Minister Mohammed Idris called the advisory a “routine precaution” and says daily life is continuing as usual.
