GRA to Launch Nationwide Enforcement Exercise to Recover Tax Arrears

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has officially announced a nationwide debt recovery operation aimed at retrieving all unpaid taxes owed to the state.

In a formal statement, the Authority clarified that this enforcement exercise will target every category of taxpayer, ranging from individual citizens to large corporate entities.

The GRA has issued a final window for compliance, urging all persons and businesses with outstanding tax arrears to settle their accounts immediately to avoid the coming crackdown.

Beginning after this Friday, the Authority intends to deploy its full range of legal and administrative enforcement tools to ensure the recovery of these funds.

This aggressive stance is part of a broader strategy to improve domestic revenue mobilization and ensure that all tax obligations are met to support national development.

Officials have warned that entities failing to regularize their tax status before the deadline may face severe penalties, including the possible closure of business premises or legal prosecution as permitted under the Revenue Administration Act.
