Henry Nana Boakye, the NPP National Organiser popularly known as Nana B, is marking his 45th birthday with a significant milestone in community health. He recently shared that a 30-bed children’s ward he initiated at the Tafo Government Hospital is now 85% complete. This project represents a long-term commitment to improving pediatric healthcare for families in the region.
The initiative began five years ago as a personal spiritual promise. Nana B explained, “Five years ago, on the eve of my 40th birthday, I made a personal commitment to God to fulfill one of the deepest desires of my heart, to facilitate the construction of a 30-bed Children’s Ward.” He decided to focus his efforts on the Tafo Government Hospital after learning about the struggles facing its existing facilities.
The decision to build there was driven by a critical need for better infrastructure. Nana B noted, “That commitment found its purpose at the Tafo Government Hospital because of the deplorable condition of its existing Children’s Ward, which had become a major concern for the Ghana Health Service and the people of the region.” During a recent site visit, he confirmed that “the project is 85% complete.”
With the finish line in sight, Nana B hopes the facility will be commissioned before the end of the year. He stated, “There is no greater birthday gift I could ask for than to witness the completion and commissioning of this facility before the end of the year so that generations of children and their families can receive the quality healthcare they deserve.” Such a development would provide a vital lifeline for local parents and children.
For Nana B, the project is about more than just construction; it’s about lasting impact. He emphasized that “this journey has never been about me. It has always been about giving hope, preserving lives, and leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service.” He expressed deep gratitude to the individuals and organizations that helped turn this vision into a reality.
