Thai authorities have arrested 36-year-old Kittikorn Songsri for performing hundreds of penis enlargement surgeries and filler injections without any medical training or qualifications.
Mr. Songsri, who reportedly began carrying out these procedures at the age of 14 after dropping out of school, had been operating illegally for over two decades. He charged patients up to £450 per treatment for a range of procedures, including silicone injections and implant surgeries.
The arrest follows a complaint from a patient who developed a severe infection after receiving a silicone injection from Mr. Songsri. In response, police from the Consumer Protection Division launched a sting operation involving an undercover officer posing as a client. Upon raiding the premises, investigators found that the procedures were being conducted in unhygienic conditions that were entirely unfit for medical use.
During his interrogation, Mr. Songsri confessed that he lacked a medical license despite his long history of practicing. His operations frequently led to serious complications for those seeking body modifications. This case has drawn renewed attention to the health risks associated with unregulated cosmetic procedures and the dangers of seeking medical treatments outside of licensed facilities.
