Leading Oil Marketing Company, GOIL, has issued a formal statement categorically denying allegations of cheating customers and has reassured the public of its commitment to providing value for money.
This response follows media reports suggesting that its Ridge Service Station in Sunyani, Bono Region, had been closed by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) for fuel volume discrepancies.
GOIL clarified that the station itself was never locked and has remained open to the public. According to the company, the issue was limited to only two out of the ten nozzles at the facility.
These specific nozzles were reportedly exhibiting “fluctuating readings” – alternating between underdelivering and over-delivering – a technical fault that was already being addressed by certified mechanics at the time of the NPA’s visit.
GOIL emphasized its status as a responsible market leader, asserting that the faulty equipment has since been repaired and is awaiting official certification to ensure total accuracy for its consumers.
