Kasoa Pastor Held for Threatening Ghana’s VP and First Lady

A pastor from Kasoa landed in police custody after a video of him threatening Ghana’s vice president and first lady went viral. The clip showed Prophet William Gyimah issuing death warnings against the two leaders.

Police say the video was flagged as high‑priority and intercepted by their cyber vetting team. Gyimah, 49, was arrested on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, during a targeted operation in Kasoa.

After his arrest, he was handed over to the CID’s Special Investigations Unit for further questioning. Authorities warned the public not to use social media to post content that could disturb national peace.
