Peter Obi: US Security Warning is a ‘Bad Omen’ for Nigeria

Imagine the US telling its own people to avoid your country. That’s exactly what happened recently with a new travel advisory for Nigeria. It’s a pretty big deal.

The US told non-essential staff to leave the Abuja embassy and warned travelers about crime and terrorism. Peter Obi isn’t happy about it. He called the move a “bad omen” that should be treated as a national emergency.

Obi is worried that this will scare away investors. He said, “The U.S. directive is a clear signal of declining confidence in our national security architecture.” He believes leaders are focusing too much on politics while citizens remain unsafe.

On the other hand, the government says it’s just a routine precaution. Minister Mohammed Idris claims everything is running normally. We’ll have to see if things actually get better.
