MTN Group has announced a leadership transition for its Ghanaian operations, appointing Stephen Blewett as the new Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana. He succeeds Selorm Adadevoh, who has been promoted to the role of Chief Commercial Officer for the MTN Group. These changes come as part of a strategic realignment to strengthen the company’s executive leadership across the African continent.

Mr. Blewett is a seasoned telecommunications executive who recently served as MTN’s Operations Executive for Markets. In that capacity, he held executive responsibility for smaller West and Central Africa markets and provided operational support to the Group’s Senior Vice President. His extensive leadership background includes a tenure as Chief Operating Officer of Digicel and seven years as CEO for MTN’s subsidiaries in both Benin and Cameroon.

The Chairman of the Board of MTN Ghana, Ishmael Yamson, expressed confidence in the new appointment, stating that the board looks forward to working with Mr. Blewett to advance the company’s Ambition 2025 strategy. This transition marks a pivotal moment for the telecom giant as it continues to expand its digital and financial services footprint in the Ghanaian market.
