Assibu’s journey in Sweden began when he arrived from the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in 2025. He initially found his footing with the U19 side, where his skill set quickly set him apart from his peers. His ability to impact games made him a standout performer in a short amount of time.

The numbers tell a clear story of his potential, as Assibu scored three goals in just six appearances in the U19 Allsvenskan before the mid-season break. This form led to regular training sessions with the senior squad and a spot on the bench for the match against IFK Göteborg. He eventually made his professional league debut as a substitute in a clash against Kalmar FF.

Sporting director Philip Berglund believes the young winger possesses a rare quality. He stated, “Isaac has shown an X-factor and a mentality in training that we have all been impressed with. It will be exciting to continue to follow Isaac’s development as he is now permanently promoted to our men’s team from P19. We are very happy to sign a contract with him beyond 2030.”

By securing a deal that runs beyond 2030, Malmö FF is betting heavily on Assibu’s long-term growth. The club’s willingness to commit to an 18-year-old shows a clear strategy of integrating youth into the first-team setup. For Assibu, this is the start of a challenging but rewarding chapter in European football.
