A new diagnostic hub is coming to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge), thanks to a strategic partnership between the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), KGL Group, and the KGL Foundation. This facility aims to bring critical medical services under one roof, making the process of diagnosis faster and more efficient for patients. It represents a significant step toward modernizing healthcare access in the heart of the city.
The project began when the GMTF reached out to the private sector in early February to help modernize the hospital’s aging equipment. This call for support was designed to bridge the gap in diagnostic capabilities at Ridge Hospital. KGL Group didn’t just respond to the request; they expanded the scope of the project to ensure the facility would be truly comprehensive.
The new centre will be equipped with an MRI machine, CT scan, mammography unit, X-ray machine, and fluoroscopy machine. Highlighting the generosity of the partner, the GMTF noted, “When the Ghana Medical Trust Fund called on Corporate Ghana on the 5th of February this year to help retool the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) with modern diagnostic equipment, KGL Group in partnership with the KGL Foundation answered the call and has gone far beyond the ask.”
By housing these advanced services together, the hospital can now diagnose and manage complex medical conditions with greater precision. This expansion means patients will no longer have to travel to multiple locations to receive specialist diagnostic tests. It’s a move that promises to reduce waiting times and improve overall patient outcomes across the region.
The project has already moved into the implementation phase following a site visit by GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku and KGL Group CEO Alex Apau Dadey. Reflecting on the collaboration, the GMTF stated, “We are deeply grateful to KGL Group for responding to our call with such an extraordinary commitment.
